A Little Closer

This weekend was nice. I’m officially ready for work to be done for the week and to have time off. Plans for this weekend seem to be coming along really well. Everyone seems to be in agreement about transportation and things that we need. I feel as if things are well organized. We shall see as the date approaches. Even if it’s not well organized, things will go great and I will have an awesome time. I heart the floating world.

The sunroof on my car broke this weekend. I have to take it in to get it fixed tomorrow. Thankfully, I’m renting a garage, so I can keep the water out of the car. I might also mention that it’s great that it’s finally raining. It was really, really icky this last week, especially this weekend.

I finally finished Cowboy Bebop. It was one of those really embarrassing holes in my watched list. I was kind of amused when I started watching it, though, because, while I knew I had seen some of the series, I was not sure how much if it I had seen. Apparently, I had already seen the first five episodes. I accidentally spoiled the ending for my sister as well. For whatever reason, I knew how it ended before watching. I’m not sure if someone showed me the ending or what, but I definitely knew what happened. The ending was still more powerful after having actually seen the series from the beginning, though. Also, the series got really awesome at the end as people started to part ways. I’m glad I finally got this series watched.

A boy at the store likes me, but he knows that I’m not available. I hope things don’t turn awkward or even better, I’m wrong about the whole thing.

Work’s going to be getting busy here soon. I keep saying that, but we keep getting delays from the client. However, I think that the delays are over. Only problem is that I found out that I will be completely switching up some stuff that I’ve already done as well as implementing some mystery functionality, which we have yet to get exact specifications on. Also, I found out that I have to do some more testing with the web service that I wrote back in April. I hate web service programming, because it takes too much time to verify. Plus, the toolkit that I have to work with isn’t exactly well documented. Still, a toolkit is better than nothing. To see the response, I was originally telnetting into the web server and issuing HTTP commands by hand. That was a complete pain in the ass. If I messed up the HTTP request, I had to reconnect and type it in correctly from scratch!

I Am Sailor Moon

I got my hair cut last night. I don’t like it. She fucked up my bangs, which I started to fix last night, but I’m still not sure that they’re right. I’ll probably leave them at this point. They’re better, and I don’t want to make them any worse. See, I wanted to go to the salon that the good people that used to work at the store opened up. You know, support locally owned business, and get a hair cut from people that I know can do a good job. However, I couldn’t go on Tuesday or Wednesday, and last night I had to work. So I went to the salon in the store and got the new girl. She was scared to cut too much of my hair off. I kept telling her to cut my bangs shorter, and she got the right length after four tries, but I noticed that they were crooked when I left. Plus, I think that my hair looks particularly round. It’s like a closeted bowl-cut or something. It’s the right length most of the way around, just the “corners” of my head seem a tad long. I don’t know. Spiked hair FTW!

I have not been nearly as productive this week as I wanted to be. However, good things have been accomplished, just not as quickly as I would have liked. We’re having a meeting on Monday to go over what needs done on this project before the client tests on the 24th. Hopefully that will be a motivator. I doubt that to a degree, though, because with Anime Iowa next week, it will probably be all that I’ll think about. Beth and I have been e-mailing about it for the last day or so pretty constantly. I’ve turned into an Anime Iowa forum junkie as well. Damned forums.

When grocery shopping on Wednesday night, I found some really good white tea. It’s a raspberry white tea that I found in the health market. While I prefer to grocery shop Sunday evening when it’s cool and I can get the exercise of walking to the grocery store, there is the nice advantage that all of the health market and organics are 10% off on Wednesday nights. I usually work on Wednesday nights, so I can’t take advantage of this if I wanted to most weeks.

Wild ARMS 5 comes out on August 28th. That’s my mom’s birthday so I can’t play it then. Ronda is having a birthday party on the 29th, if I’m not mistaken. No Wild ARMS 5 then, either. I’ll probably be scheduled to work on the 30th if I take the 29th off, so no Wild ARMS 5 that night either. The 30th is a Friday, which means no staying home for me. I’m beginning to think that I’ll never get to play Wild ARMS 5!

Anime Iowa is soon. Hooray!
