Hare Hare Yukai

I got my next Haruhi DVD last night. It was good. I didn’t spend the whole time laughing my ass off, like the last one, but it there were still plenty of funny parts. Plus, the story is picking up. I’m all over that.

I’m excited to be off tomorrow. I’m not excited to go to the parade in Slater, but we’re supposed to see my grandma in it, so I’ll be there. It’s probably all early too. I’m playing video games tonight, regardless.

I finally got Beryl working again on my computer. It’s all pretty. I seriously have no idea why this broke. Anyway, it’s back, and I’m enjoying it a lot. While some of it may just be bling, there are certain features (the desktop cube, window opacity) that really do make working with lots of windows a lot easier.

Unzip My Files

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

Today has been super long. I just finally got home from birthday dinner with the family. I had a great time. I felt bad pushing my way out of there, but I could have seriously stayed and hung out all night. Still, I’m just getting home at midnight, so I’d say I wasn’t that rude for getting out of there.

Work today was a bit trying. It seemed that everyone wanted something different from me. I started the day trying to decrypt these files with a proprietary library. About a month ago, we purchased the library and got these files decrypted. Since then, we lost the copy of the code that used the license key. I went in today and put it back in and tried to decrypt these files. Unfortunately, everything was still a jumbled mess when I looked at it. I had tons of other emergencies to respond to later, messing with this program off and on all day. Finally, at the end of the day, I realized my problem: the encrypted files were ZIP files. All I had to do was unzip the decrypted files. It worked like a charm. Why did I have to waste all of my time on that?

I also spent two hours on a conference call today. I’m not entirely sure that we accomplished that much. We definitely determined that our two organizations’ IT departments were working in different directions. We have plans to get on the same track, too, so that’s good. However, we still have to work at getting on the same track before we’re good.

I can’t find my car registration renewal letter. I must find that soon if I want to register online.
