Incomplete Spiral
Wednesday, June 6th, 2007Okay, the people that made the Spiral anime need to be hurt. They took an otherwise good series, and they just drop-dead ended it. I was watching along, and the series essentially ended before the last episode was half over. What the hell? None of the real questions were answered, people just turned into puzzle pieces. Reading Wikipedia, it turns out that the manga did have answers to the bigger questions posed by the series. Why cut it so short?
Got to go out to dinner with Beth, Amy, Shane, Josh, Chris, Mandar, and Dean on Sunday evening. That was a lot of fun. Someone made some comment while we were in the parking lot and I said, “Yeah, I’ll be leaving now,” and Dean and Mandar were all ready to go for real so I had to leave early. That was kind of sad, but it was late enough that I needed to get back and do my laundry, which didn’t end up getting done anyway.
The last several weekends have been a lot of fun. Three weeks ago, Lewis was in town and we kind of randomly went around Des Moines. That was a lot of fun, and it was great to get to see Lewis. On Memorial Day, a bunch of us got together at Veronica’s house. That was a lot of fun, as well. Last weekend, in addition to hanging out with everyone on Sunday, we went to Mandar’s brother’s wedding reception, which was okay. Afterwards, we went to Josh’s and hung out, which was fun, as always. The short, non-redundant version the last several weekends have been fun.
I’m hoping that things at work are going to be calmer here for the next few weeks. For the first time in a long time, I’m not really considering working this weekend at all. That’s a very exciting prospect.
