Oh Noes!

The company Christmas party is my favorite work day of the year. Basically, you come in and work for a while and there’s a bunch of food around to tide you over until a late lunch. You go to lunch and eat tasty food, do a gift exchange in IT afterwards and then there’s only an hour of work left! I love it!

So what did I do during my working time today? I built Firefox on the handy new Linux box that they gave me for my desk. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the embedding stuff that I need for the project that I’m working on. I’m trying to use Mozilla to automatically render and print to file from the command line. To start that, I need to do the roll your own browser tutorials, but I just can’t! The forces of the universe hate me.

Since last time, the major fun event was Nebraskon. It was a smaller convention, but it was really fun. Since it wasn’t at a hotel, we were at the convention all day with no room to sneak back to. This lead to a lot more panel visits and, in general, a more “productive” convention. I’d like to try to spend more time out of the room at Anime Central. The guests that they had were amazing. I’d seen some of them at Anime Central and Anime Iowa before, but it was really cool to listen to what these guests had to say more in-depth than at previous events.

I’m sick at the moment, which is absolutely great. I swear, I’ve blown my nose ever ten minutes all day. My right heel is messed up so it hurts to walk on it. As a result, I walk funny and end up jacking up my back by the end of the day. It’s great. To top it off, I got up this morning and my refrigerator stopped refrigerating! I’m headed home now to clean that up as well as the rest of the apartment so that I can call the landlord. The apartment is in one of it’s messy phases. As much as I don’t owe the landlord anything on how messy I am or not, I’d rather have it cleaner than it is no matter who’s coming over!

I’m eighty hours into Final Fantasy XII. I can’t do any more hunts, so I pretty much have to get to the end of the game I think in order to do anything else. I’m to understand that there are more hunts, but I assume that I need to do more stuff before they become available.
