Just Fly Fly Away
Thursday, August 24th, 2006I’ve been really bad about writing.
Anime Iowa has come and gone. A good time was had by all. I know I definately needed the break. They did a good job with the convention this year. My two complaints are that the hotel was so vertical and that the volunteer department didn’t seem so organized this year. Of course, this year the volunteer department had two new co-heads and, from what I heard, one of them was a bit flakey. After my initial discussion with the department, I decided that I wasn’t terribly interested in volunteering. The recharge qualifications were a bit too stringent for my liking. All in all I had a good convention, though. There were a few things that I really wanted to do that I did not get to do, which is sad, but it was still good. Jessica is now begging me to take her to Anime Nebraskon.
Work is much less busy than before the convention. I still have things to do, but I only work eight hours a day now and I’m not going on Saturday afternoons to do miscellaneous tasks. My project will go live any day now. I’m excited becaues that will mean that I can get us through our first job, write some billing reports and move on to something new. I’m ready to work on something fresh. New things are always exciting and make me really productive, but if I work on something to long I tend to lose interest, and my productivity goes down.
I got Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerebrus last night. The game is pretty fun. I’m not really a first-person shooter gamer, but I’m getting okay at it. It turns out that the game only lasts ten to fifteen hours, so I should have that finished pretty quickly. Then I have got to finish Wild ARMSL Alter Code F so that I can play Xenosaga Episode III before Final Fantasy XII comes out on Halloween! Somehow, I don’t think I can get it all done. So many games, so little time!
