I got up today and had Josh fix my car. All was going well. I got the part, he got it installed, and it didn’t seem that I was causing him to miss out on doing paid work. After I left, I was waiting at a light at Merle Hay Road. It was very backed up, and it was raining outside. The car in front of me started to go, so I did too. Then she slams on her brakes and I follow suit. Something was happening at the intersection or someone further up took off way too fast and deceived some people in front of us to believe that we were really going to go.
Unfortunately, I ended up rear-ending her because my car slid a bit in the rain when I tried to slow down. No one was hurt, though I think I’m a little sore from tensing up. I’ll be fine, though. The hood of my car now looks like shit, and I have to get some work done. Tomorrow after work, I have to call the insurance company and file a claim.
These things tend to instill a certain sense of mortality in you.
I’m so glad that no one was hurt, because things could have turned out a lot worse.
