You know what’s unfortunate?

The Enlightenment project will probably never gain major mindshare as a desktop shell/environment. The project has been at release DR16 for so long that (like five years) it will be really hard for all of the cool stuff in DR17 to get seen by most people. The stuff in DR17 is going to be worth seeing, too.

The customizability of the Enlightenment project puts the fun back into computing, and that is why I am eagerly awaiting DR17. I do doubt that we’ll see it this year, but it’s definately coming.
