Otaku Powas

This last weekend was awesome. I took Friday off, so Mandar and I hung out during the day. We acquired and assembled a futon. This took about three hours and was no easy task. The futon’s directions were bad, but we got through it in the end. I’m pretty pleased with the end result. My apartment is beginning to look better now that it’s somewhat furnished. I’m not really sure what else I need here other than lamps and maybe a coffee table.

Mandy and I toyed with the idea of going to Anime Nebraskon this last weekend. The reasoning was threefold in my mind: the fandub Catastrophe of Escaflowne looked hilarious and was premiering, Tiffany Grant (the voice of Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion) was going to be there, and it would have been something spontaneous to do. Instead, we stuck with the original plan and watched Azumanga Daioh! on Saturday, with an anime sampler evening the night before. Both were lots of fun.

This week I have been tired. Tonight is the first night that I’ve been able to stay awake decently late. Last night I fell asleep at about nine o’clock. I am feeling much better than I have in the last week, though. I’ve seriously felt immensly awful. I still have symptoms, but I can feel my cold going away.

I’ve been watching episodes of Blood+ on my lunch hours at home. I’m highly enjoying the series and would like to get Blood the Last Vampire and see it. I guess that the movie is a prequel to the series, but the main character’s name is also Saya. I’m sure it all fits together.

I’ve also been watching the anime Air. I’m only two episodes in, but it seems to be a pretty cute anime if nothing else. While I can’t always stand cute, it seems to contrast well with Blood+.
