It’s All Right, Have a Good Time
It looks like everything’s going to be all right on the work front. I’m still nervous, and I will be until about Wendesday once the client has had a chance to see and review the materials for ym current project, but things are going to turn out okay after all. I get to only work eight hours today, as a matter of fact. I’m still going to work at Wal-Mart tonight though. Too much work this week.
Apparently, it is now legal to require new employees to take their pay as direct deposit as long as it is mentioned before they are hired. I love my direct deposit, but there are a lot of well-minded people out there who just don’t want to trust the system with their paychecks. Personally, I think the other way, but who is this new law really benefitting? Isn’t printing MICR really just a reasonable cost of doing business?

Why does my job have to know what bank I use? That is creepy and I think it is a violation of privacy. Anybody else agree?

I love direct deposit. But that’s only because my bank is a bitch to get to. Well.. not nearly as much as I used to cause I live much closer to bank than I did before. But yeah. 45 min to go to the bank? Crazy! Now I just have to make the trek when I need to deposit a personal check. As for my job knowing where I bank? Eh.. I dunno if I care. They are the ones paying me, not the other way around. I suppose you could claim you don’t have a checking account anywhere. They can’t do direct deposit to no where, and they have to pay you if you do work…

With direct deposity I get my money on midnight on friday and if I don’t, I have to wait for the check to come in on monday. Sometimes I don’t get it until tuesday. I’d rather it was electronic. and I’d rather have money for the weekend. although all this electronic banking that I do really is creepy when you think about it too much. so I try not to think about it.
