Two Steps Forward, One-Half Step Back

I got my car back yesterday. That’s extremely exciting for me. Unfortunately, the service engine light is on again. This time for an oxygen sensor (do these last for more than six months in any car?) and for something to do with air flow. Neither is serious, and Josh said that he’d do the work for me. I just wish he would have called me tonight to do it.

Speaking of Joshes, I had a comment from Josh Opperman, a friend from middle school, a few days ago. I’ve written him a few times and I’m not waiting for a reply. It’s kind of cool to hear from him and see how his life is going. It’s also kind of neat to see how my life is going by what I’ve written to him. There haven’t been any major surprises or anything, but it is a different perspective (from what little I’ve written).

I got to work with Ronda tonight. I like working with her. I did feel like I accomplished nothing this evening. However, I did learn how to reconcile the store’s general journals with some of the claims reports. As lame as that sounds, it was exciting to learn. I’m still not entirely sure why I’m doing what I do, but I think that knowledge will come with time and practice.

This weekend is the Wal-Mart people’s trip to Omaha. We shall see how this fairs. The decision was made that instead of all of us doing a gift exchange that we all save our money and take a trip somewhere not too far away for a while and just hang out. We’re going to see Cher (again) on Monday. Even though I’ve only seen her once, I really did feel that it was enough for me. The rest of them can’t seem to get enough of her. I’m sure I will enjoy myself.

So you can roadtrip to see other things and other friends, but not come and see me?? *pout*

Wow, Josh O…. That’s like forever ago!

Words on the O2 sensor. My aunt has a Saturn. She’s had her sensor replaced twice. The Saturn people told her that it’s because of the ethanol gas. I dunno. Maybe it is. I’ve had mine replaced twice. But the first one was replaced my freshman year (I’d had my car a year), and right after I moved here (Otis is 6 this year).

I’ve had my Saturn since, what ‘01 and have never had any O2 sensor problems with it… Strange.

BTW, are you having problems with getting e-mails from wordpress since the 1.5 upgrade?

Hey Cj, I think I remember you. I’m surprised so many people remeber me.

I have a couple of sensors out on my car right now too. It’s not a really big deal. You will get less gas milage and more wear on the car though until it is fixed. Ethanol will affect it. I always bought ethanol when I was in IOwa though because it is cheaper and creates a market for Iowa corn. Also, you don’t want to use a fuel that is higher octane than recommended by your owner’s manual. Premium fuel can actually hurt your car if it wasn’t designed for it. It’s mostly newer expensive cars and elder powerful cars that need it. It has to do with compression ratio. I’m assuming you probably have neither a Cadillac nor a 350 Cleveland so less octane is probably in order.

What do you mean you aren’t waiting for a reply? =] I sent one a while ago anyway. It seems no onw I talk to checks their email.

Anyone who wants to email me can. Get the addy from Julian or look on my previous comment to find it.
