Crazy Leap Year
This weekend was good. Friday, we had birthday dinner with Kim and her mother. Everyone else canceled. It was funny, because at the last minute, the lat person&emdash;Dianna&emdash;had to cancel because someone at one of her rental properties broke open a gas pipe! The forces of the universe were working against us for dinner.
Saturday, everyone and their brother was at Deb’s for the surprise party. Dean was super surprised to see people from Glidden, including his family, at the party. We had a good time, though I was out way too late after a super-busy day at work.
Today, at work, Kelly Malone, our old personnel manager, was at the service desk for a return. She has transfered to the store in West Des Moines to be the personnel manager there. The only person that’s applied for her position is the training coordinator, which is the other job in personnel. Kelly encouraged me to apply for training coordinator when it opens up. She said that I would be really good at it. That comment made me feel really good, since she was technically in charge of the training coordinator before. It’s tempting, because there would be raise, and sense of stability for the future involved, but I hate to apply for that job, get it, and then keep applying for other jobs. Somehow the situation just seems like it would be tacky. Too bad, because the position is somewhat appealing.
