Calculus for Farmers

This week is turning out to be a little busier than I had expected. It looks as if I will have to manager to get my remoting project done by Friday, as opposed to Monday, in order to escape having to worry about finishing too close to the deadline. Honestly, though, will I really finish by Friday? Probably not. I hope to be at least somewhat nearing completion by Friday, though. As it is right now, I have a chat client that starts up the server as speficied. However, there’s something about factories and broadcasters that I’m not entirely understanding. I hope to understand what they do either tonight or tomorrow.

I have a meeting in about an hour at work. I’m not sure entirely what will be said, but I know that they wanted me to go and give my opinions. It’s nice to be valued. I wonder if in the future my coworkers will value my work and opinions. I’ve never worked in the industry before, so I don’t know what’s worthy of recognition amongst coworkers. I hope that whatever I end up doing, my efforts are valued.

Last night I started playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance again. I enjoyed it for a while, until my sister came in to my room. She asked if I had a minute. I told her that I did, and she asked me how to do math problems. Math problems never take a minute. Eventually, though, I used calculus to determine how to spread 80 feet of fencing around a 24 by 40-f00t corner such that area was maximized. The other problem that she needed help with I kept getting imaginary numbers for results, so I told her to do something like what I was doing, but to maybe try solving it on her own since something was just not clicking at that moment. Jessica has come a long way in terms of math, though. She’s now doing most of her assignments without questions, and she did well on her midterm exam. I’m glad to see that something that was once to frustrating for her is working out after all.

Between Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and calculus, I did not read Oedipus the King last night like I was supposed to. I’m not sure when that’s going to fit into my schedule this week. Hopefully this whole remoting business won’t be so bad and it will all magically work out. That’s all I really have to hope for right now is that everything magically works out. It usually does, in the end; though the in-between can be kind of rough. We’ll see.
