Linux Takes Over ISU!

Well, it’s been another couple days and the semester seems to be going alright. It looks like I may be working big time in classes from time to time, but it seems that I should have breathers in between work times, unlike last year. I’m excited to only be taking twelve credits. It will make life so much more managable this fall. Especially when it comes to project time for my C# class.

They installed six Linux machines in Durham. They are, quite honestly, sweet. The machines are fast, sexy, and they actually have good software installed (unlike the machines for the computer science department). While there could be better software installed (say, a GTK 2 version of Gaim), they did a really good job of getting mostly up to date software. People have been walking up and using them and seeming to not have any troubles. No one has made any strange faces at the machines, which is good.

The college adventure continues…
