Fourth of July

The algorithms project moves along well. I think that the main algorithm is done, and it runs in an acceptable time. It’s not perfect, but I used some set theory to make things happen a little faster than working through certain bits of arrays. However, the set manipulation is not obvious when looking at the code. It works, but there are lots of wierd intersections, unions, and differences going on all at once. It’s really quite neat. All of the set operators run in O(n log2n) or maybe O(n2 log2n) time, too, since they’re recursive tree functions. That’s better than the O(n3) time I did have with vectors.
My Fourth of July was okay. I hung out with Dean, Kim Pritchard, and Carol. We ate and talked a lot. Afterwards, Dean and I went to Altoona to see the Adventureland and Prarie Meadows fireworks. Since there was nowhere to park, Dean got Penny to let us on top of the roof to Wal-Mart. There were fireworks going off on three sides of us, it was awesome.
Mike Skinner was in town tonight too. I really wanted to see him, but I guess that it just wasn’t in the cards. I get to see Dean so very little that I wanted to be sure and let him do what he wanted on the holiday as opposed to meeting up with a friend. Dean really likes fireworks, so tonight played out as it did. I think I would have felt really selfish if we had done out with Mike as opposed to spending time with Dean considering I only get to see Dean three days a week. That’s a pretty crappy ratio for someone you’re dating if you ask me.
Alas, it is late and I should really be getting to bed.

Three days a week is a crappy ratio for someone your dating… And it really sucks. I wish things could work out so that ratios could be increased, but there’s just never enough time in the day for it.
It’s good we both have bf’s that are understanding of it all though, eh?
Give me a call sometime, I’d enjoy hanging out with you again.
