Now Listening to: Adventurous Break (remix)
Matt Pollard, SQUAREDANCE

Today was a long day. I slept in, because it was supposed to be my day off and I didn’t feel like going into work right away. Of course, Kim didn’t care. I left work a little before five, because I had meetings for Youth Alliance. Unfortunately, I had meetings until nine-thirty! I hadn’t eaten at all. When I got home around ten, I was starving. The meetings were productive, though. I now have my very own key to the LGBT Community Center and its office so that I can get in when I need. Handy.

When I got home, I didn’t do a whole lot after eating. I tried to play dot hack for a while, but I died and just didn’t have the gumption to try again. I’m not really worried, though. I still think that if I try some every night I can finish before school starts on June 16th. Ultimately, that is my goal so that during school I can play Xenosaga and be happy. I am beyond excited to play Xenosaga, but I must finish dot hack first.

Later, I tried to make a computer program with Glade and failed. There are issues with compilation, and I don’t want to track down the libraries necessary. I’m going to see how intuitive the API to GTK– is and if I can decipher that. It must be more elegant than GTK itself. Mostly, I just want to get started on coding something. It’s been so long since I’ve written a useful program. At the moment, it seems like I can only code in Scheme.

I have the urge to play Final Fantasy, but I shall not satisfy that urge this evening.

My sister graduated today. It was pretty good. Angie’s brother, Derrick, made an awesome speech at graduation. He talked about how he grew as opposed to being friends with everyone and the eternal bond of high school students. It’s odd, though, after all of the graduations for band, graduating myself, and seeing siblings graduate; I feel like I’ve graduated about six times in the last seven years.

Tonight I went out with Xak. We didn’t really do anything for the greatest portion of the evening, but we had a good time. It was more of an enjoyment of company sort of thing, I think. We finally ended up watching Red Dwarf episdoes. God, I’ve forgotten how hilarious that show was.

Since last night at about 12:30 in the morning the refridgerator was emptied for graduation things, there was only left-overs from one restraunt to eat. Other than that, there was no food I could make. I was told that if I made food, I would be murdered. I asked Beth if she wanted to go to Perkins on 86th street, and we did. It was a good time. Again, it was good to kind of catch up with Beth. She had interesting stories to tell. I got hom at 3:30 and set my alarm for 10:00, finding out later that I didn’t need to wake up until noon today. Craziness.

The Chobits manga continues to prove interesting. I’m enjoying it very much. I’m afraid that I’m going to actually develop a regular manga habit from this, which I cannot afford. Maybe it would be better to say that I shouldn’t be affording a manga habit. Only time will tell, I guess.
