I’m Off to Do Battle with the Forces of Quantum Mechanics!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2003

Things are actually alright at the moment. The physics test was a 49/70, as predicted. The Asian American studies test came back as a 92%, and that made me happy, but it was no surprise. To top it all off, the end of school is in sight. I can finally see myself having a chance to relax and play video games. Ultimately, my goal is to stay up late and play lots of video games. Maybe it sounds a bit childish, but I spend so much time being “grown up” what with studying, work, and having commitments to Dean that I don’t think that it’s too childish at all. I need time to escape, and that’s that.

The game plan for today is to do lots of programming languages, and get lots of extra credit for completing the assignment. I figured that if this extra credit assignment gets done, I should have enough added to my homework grade to make up for the fact that I couldn’t write a scanner on the last exam (30 points for 10 lines of Scheme!).

I have other things that have been running through my mind lately, but at the moment they escape me. I probably need to solidify my opinions more before I can know what I want to write down about them, which, at that point, will solidify them even more. In any case, I’m tired and will soon be off to battle the forces of quantum mechanics.

In Less Than Five Seconds

I got back some test results. The programming languages one wasn’t as high as I was hoping for, but I still did alright on it. Physics was much higher than I anticipated. I got 41/70 on the multiple choice section, and I know that I will get at least 8/10 (if not all ten) on the tear off question, leaving me with a cool 49-51/70 points for the exam. Yes, there were ten extra questions on the exam, as to help the class score higher. Anyway, I was six points above the class average on the multiple choice, so things are looking up. Even though the results sound dismal, they are not for a physics exam. From my estimations, that is a “B.”

I was in the lab until four ‘o-clock this morning trying to get the programming languages homework done. Needless to say, I skipped my Spanish class this morning. It’s a shame, too, because I had done all of the reading and was kind of looking forward to discussing it. I still have tonight to work on about a million other things after programming languages homework is officially done. I’m pretty sure part of the solution doesn’t work, but at three-thirty, Luke didn’t seem to want to listen to me. I will rationalize it with him later.
