Defiance via Music

Friday, August 30th, 2002

Yesterday was okay. My dad had to take me to class, because my brother’s car was dead and Josh still had to go to work. Class was fairly uneventful, and I was done at noon and home by two, thanks to my mother. I played some Dance Dance Revolution, and that was that. I’m getting better at that game, actually.

I napped from 5:00 to 7:30, which was awesome. I was really beat. For a good part of the rest of the evening I lounged around since a whole lot hadn’t happened in class. I did my homework later, and decided to bust out the minidisc player and record my Para Para Max 3 CD (anime songs remixed dance style). Now I have Para Para Max 3 for my listening enjoyment on campus.

This brings me to my next topic, which is my recitation teacher for speech. She seems really nice, but she was talking about how we couldn’t listen to CD players in class and that we needed to turn off our cell phones. This is all fine and good, but she was using kids walking into class with CD players as an example of being really rude to the professors. Who knows if they actually listened to the music during lecture. I doubt many did on the first day. So, I’m going to class with my music on, and then I’ll take it off for lecture.

WebCT: Yet Another Mortal Sin

Tuesday, August 27th, 2002

Class was alright today. Computer science seems like it’s going to be interesting. We’re doing a team project all semester since the class is software engineering. I hope it’s not too bad. The only thing I’m displeased with is the fact that I have to use WebCT for this class. Any student that has ever used it knows that it is much easier to use a simple course web page and turn in paper assignments. I hate it.

My teaching assistant for physics recitation seems really nice. I’m glad to be in her section. Unfortunately, I forgot my homework so I had to drive home and bring it back when class was up. Ugh. There are only two girls in the section, excluding her. It’s kind of funny. She’s from Spain, as well.

And that was it for the college adventure today! It was a short day, which was awesome. The college adventure coninues…

This evening I went to Dean’s for dinner and we watched a few episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I’m hoping to get him hooked. We’ll see.

When I came home tonight, Josh had bought shirts from Structure. The realyl nice dress shirts that I want. I guess my mother actually paid for them and is offering to buy me some. Yay! What’s even funnier is that these shirts fit like one would imagine a typical “gay man” shirt to fit, and Josh is in love with these shirts. Amusing to no end.
