Fund Raising Goodness
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2002I really wish I hadn’t signed up for summer classes. There will be far too much to do starting fairly soon. However, I can be lazy for at least one more day. After that, who knows? Tomorrow I have class twice. It’s the same class, too! The college adventure continues…
This afternoon, when I got home, I worked on calling people for prom donations. I got ahold of almost all of my donors. I think I have three that I still need to call. Everyone’s going to donate except for one. He asked me to have dinner with him first. I’m not sure if I’ll really have time for this, but I’m going to try and squeeze it in. There will be door prizes now!
I asked Jessica if she was going to come to prom, and she said she didn’t think so. First she asked who she was going to come with. I told her to come with her boyfriend. She seemed suprised by this suggestion. She doesn’t seem to understand that gay people just want their allies to come along as well. Whatever, though. I’ll teach her to be a better ally yet.
This evening I had a meeting with the Film Fest crew, which Adam and Chris joined. It was good times as usual. I feel like I’m going to be more helpful on that comittee. I’m finally starting to get things that I can do to help out. Last time I didn’t get a wholelot of volunteering done. Then again, prom is getting wrapped up; so in theory I should have more free time (minus school!).
I seem to be moving along quite well with my Esperanto text. I’m going to start the third lesson before I go to bed tonight. There are only fourteen lessons in the book, so I’m 15% done with this book. I’ll still have plenty to go afterwards, but I should have a nice vocabulary at that point. Plus, with the simplified grammar, I may actually be able to communicate as well as I can in Spanish at this point.
