Damned, Dumped Cores
Damned, dumped cores. Eating up my disk quota. Anyway…
This weekend was good.
On Friday applications on my computer opposed me, so they suffered my wrath. Nautilus now obeys me. However, X opposes me, and there is little replacement for the X Window System. I’m now using Mandrake 8.1, because Nautilus works fast on that. And I have the Reiser file system, which is journaling and happy.
Dean and I watched Scary movie on Friday, too. It was good. The movie’s amusing enough, I guess. He really likes it.
Saturday it was all snowy, and I worked late, so things were good for the most part. I got up at 10:47 and hung out for a while. It was good. Then I went to work at like five. It was odd working at five, but nice for a change. I could live with doing that every other weekend.
Dinner after work. Tasty pankakes from Perkins.
Sunday I worked early and after work went to Burger King with Dean. We had a brief argument. I needed to be in Ames to meet people at 7, but he didn’t know that I had to meet people; so he was taking his time. I thought he knew, so when he asked what was wrong I told him that he had no sense of urgency. That pissed him off. Rightly so, though. We talked and it’s all good now. My bad.
I had lunch with Beth and Vero today. Those two were an intersting combination. Not that I’m surprised. It was good to see Vero again. I think (at least the two of us, since Beth eats food service) should do lunch more often. Beth is, of course, welcome as well. She’d just have to give up food service, which costs nothing at the door to the Memorial Union.
