I just realized something. As a result of losing all of my MP3s, I lost all of my website data. What this means is that there is currently no backup to this site. Kind of scary, really. I guess I’ll just hope that nothing happens and try to figure out a way to recover the photos. I was so close to having finished, too. Damn it all.

The advisory meeting is in ten minutes. Hopefully Gloria won’t think I’m crazy for skipping out on difficult classes next semester.

Also, considering using Greymatter for this site now that I have CGI access.

Today was a good day. I had a pretty good test in my databases class, and Spanish was listening activities. I got to listen to a lady from Cuba talk about Cuba and things like that. It was very interesting.

After school I installed Mandrake 8.1 on my computer. My mouse wheel, CD-ROM drives, and (supposedly) CD recorder work now. That’s nice. I had forgotten how much I missed the mouse wheel. I also have Evolution (a very, very nice mail client) working on my computer now.

In the process I lost my MP3s. I tarred and g-zipped them, but now GZip doesn’t recognize the archive as a valid one. Too bad, it was a 2.5 GB file, I would have liked to keep it. I’m slowly rebuilding my MP3 collection. There are three CDs full of MP3s that I can use. That will help quite a bit.

Windows XP launched today. Microsoft licensed Ray of Light for it’s promotion for like three months or something. That means that Windows XP’s theme song is Ray of Light. Beth has decided that is reason not to get it, I have decided that is reason to make it cool. XP looks pretty, like cartoony Windows. I don’t think it’s really much of an imorovement over Windows 2000 (which was excellent), though. I’ll hang out with Linux and GNOME regardless.

I have a meeting with Gloria (one of my advisors) tomorrow to discuss classes I’m going to take. I’m thinking Com Sci 309, Spanish 202, Stat 105, and two social science courses. I just need a break from math and science stuff. The computer science course doesn’t sound that difficult, and I think I can manage the other two.
