Saturday we went to the Warped Tour in Somerset, Wisconson. It was way cool. The pit for Less Than Jake was so bad that you couldn’t breathe. They had a huge circle pit, too. That was fun. The whole thing was awesome. The only thing that we didn’t see that I wanted to was Blink 182. However, they were playing last and I did not want to wait for them to finish and deal with traffic. I’m glad we didn’t stay.
After awaking early Sunday and heading home, a few hours later I was on the road for Omaha to pick up Angie at the airport. It was good times. I finally met Chris’ cousin Rebecca, whom I’ve heard so much about. She was cool. Angie suffered from numerous delays including her first flight leaving late and the second flight (which was rescheduled) sitting on the ramp for forty minutes. When she finally got in, I was glad to see her. The ride home was interesting. Very loud.
We spent the night at Dean’s. That was nice. In the late afternoon, when I was up and about, I got a call from my parents. They ask where I was. I told them I was running errands in Ankeny. Then they ask where I was last night because they couldn’t get ahold of me. I told them that Angie’s delays meant that I got home sometime around four. Then they told me that Josh was home last night at four and that they knew that I wasn’t. Josh was in an accident. He is fine, but the car needs to have most of one side replaced because some lady ran a stop sign.
I told them that I lied because I knew that they “hated” Dean and that it was just so late when I got back. They seem to understand that. There will be hell to pay tomorrow, but they seemed to understand my reasoning. Tomorrow will be kind of frightening. Still, I don’t think that it will be the kind of thing where the first thing that they say when they walk in the door is, “I am so mad at you,” so that should help.
In order to look responsible, I grounded myself to the house today. Dean came over, and it was good. He’s going to Omaha again tomorrow. This time for work. Their personnel manager is a total ditz (trust me, I’ve met her) so he has to help her out again. It’s bad. I was just really glad to spend the day with him.
