I hate story problems. I forget if I rambled about it yesterday (I think I did, or I sure wanted to), but I hate them. I’ve always had trouble with them for some reason. I just read the problem and think, “That’s a really nice story, what do you want me to do?” Related rates are difficult because it involves me finding the relation between stuff, writing an equation that relates everything I know and want to know, and then taking it’s derivative. The derivative bit isn’t so bad. I can do normal derivatives now. Implicit differentiation, too!
Yesterday in recitation Kwon (my TA) was gone. It was sad. Instead we got this Asian chick who talked with a sort of “Californian accent,” as the guy next to me described it. It was funny as hell. She went through four sections in an hour. A bit fast, but she did a good job. It was simply hilarious, though. She really liked to use prime notation as opposed to Leibniz(sp? probably) notation. It was like watching a trendy, Japanese anime character teach math. No, seriously. I know that the rest of that was really strange, but this I’m serious about. It really was.
Those are all the stories I have for now. Can you tell I have calculus on the brain? Test next week sooooo…
